God unavoidably powerful,

I can try to be you.
I can try to be more than you.

I can spend my hours building up glorious civilizations of my own hands but it could never match the warmth of the sun or the power of your winds or the force with which we fall to our knees when we fail.

I can try but I will fail.

Thanks be to you for loving me with profound affection and eternal attachment.

Make us not better this day but only more yours by night’s fall.
